Man is a social animal and the kind of society he lives in, considers thin as the ideal. We all think in the same way that being thin is being perfect. When we talk about United States, approximately two third of the population is overweight and around one third is obese.
A few major things to focus in having a good health is weight loss and its maintenance. But all who wish to lose weight does not necessarily be successful. It needs a very tough and focused and approach. It all depends on individual’s own will and self motivation which decides the success level. People who have BMI between 20 and 25 are considered to have normal weight proportion. 25 to 29.9 are called as overweight as and more than are termed as obese. People who fall in the category of overweight can control their weight by regular exercise and proper diet. But this entire thing starts with focused and motivated approach. They don’t need any medical intervention for that matter. It can be easily controlled by exercises. Though for obese people it become really hard to control it using diet and exercises and they need to have some medical help.
When it comes to food, the diet must be properly balanced. It has a proper ratio of iron, fat and other things. Not all diets are balanced for that matter. Loosing weight does not depend on these things only. Your personal commitment, self focus and will play really important role in this regard. There are some exceptions also. Some obese people can not just lose weight with the help of exercise and diet only. They need special kind of medication. This includes antidepressants, stimulants and medications like orlistat. It reduces the dietary fat absorption. People who are morbidly obese and who have problems like diabetes can have bariatric surgery.
We talked about loosing weight but the other important thing that is there is to maintain that weight. Most people who lose weight tend to gain even more once they stop. This is something that people must take care of. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper diet is very integral part of it. Lifelong commitment is a key and one should stick to it. To maintain weight there is a psychology related to it. You just need to be happy with your weight. What other say about your weight should not bother you and your focus toward healthy lifestyle. Enjoying life, taking a day off at times and spending time with family, things like such matter. You just keep one thing in mind that we all have our destiny written beforehand and all we can do is to live life at its fullest and with proper control.
