China Beat The USA Handsomely In Cyber War
Latest figures coming out of a recent survey show that China has overtaken the mighty USA as the country that sends more visitors on websites.
There were an estimated 221 million Chinese who logged into the web at the end of February compared to only 137 million at the start of 2007. The figure might have increased recently with the Olympic fever hotting up.
But unfortunately, still only 16 percentage of Chinese have internet access compared to the world average of 19 percent. Experts say that the figure will soon shoot up to over 400 million once people who are mostly cultivators or laborers start getting their incomes shoot up due to the economic boom the country has been witnessing for the last two decades or so. The figure is more than that of the total population of the United States of America.
Chinese mostly use the net as means of communication and also great source of entertainment. Video-sharing sites are very popular with the Chinese browsers. So the Chinese advertising market is soon going to see a boom the web has never seen before. Search engines like Baidu will surely make a killing out of it. ![]()
